GKSS Match Cup Sweden

In July 2023, I had the honour of commentating the match races at the 29th GKSS Match Cup Sweden.

Hosted by the Royal Gothenburg Yacht Club (GKSS), Match Cup Sweden is one of the world’s top match racing events staged in the iconic location of Marstrand island, north west of Gothenburg. The tournament consists of an open class and a women’s class, both of which compete in match race sailing. It is one of the pivotal events on the World Match Racing Tour, being among the longest running events on the tour. The event has attracted well over 100.000 spectators on an annual basis.

During 5 intense days, I got to put my PR & event-, social- & sail racing skills to test. A fun, different, worthwhile & challenging task. I mean, how do you really describe to a live audience what the best match racing sailors in the world think at that exact moment – and how they should get ahead their competitor?
